Climate change is considered a threat to humanity. However, the threat situation is not the same for everyone. “Those who are least responsible for climate change are also those who are particularly threatened by this crisis,” Saber Hossain Chowdhury said recently at an event on the grounds of Stamford University in Dhaka. The politician's sentence was the main message of this year's Climate Justice Assembly in the Bangladesh capital. This is one of several regional events leading up to the COP28 global climate summit in Dubai. In Dhaka, civil society activists particularly highlighted the need for stronger action.
